Genuine Interest

Connecting with genuine interest for oneself and others.

Often we can take a “selfing” attitude toward our object of meditation, the breath, or other people in our lives. But, we can make better progress when we are genuinely interested in feeling what is happening in our bodies and minds, even when it is uncomfortable.

Also, being aware of relationships with others by keeping an open mind offers the opportunity for connection with clarity in your family and friendships.

All too often, the aversive, greedy or deluded mind can drop away from practice by feeding the demanding self-serving mind instead of opening to learning no matter what is happening. You are not a thing or a self, and so genuinely being mindful allows for letting go, bringing you into a more intimate connection with life.

I found that being truly interested in my practice and in others is so rewarding!

With kindness,

Constance
